What will we create
We will create a Photoshop operation that changes the length of our images to 1000 pixels, and then apply this operation to multiple images at the same time. Photoshop automation features such as operations and batch processing have been available for a long time, so you can complete the lesson in Photoshop CS3 and newer versions:
Images for Processing Distressed Paint Overlays for Your Graphics
First, create a new document with a size of 2000 by 1500 pixels. This will give us a workspace for creating an operation for batch processing photos in Photoshop. Continue reading
22. Lightening and darkening the skin
We have smoothed out most of the dark and light areas, and this will allow us to restore the shadows and light areas exactly where we need it, and also set the intensity, size for them that we need. Create a new layer, go to Edit> Fill and select 50% gray to fill the layer. Name this layer “D & B-01”. Set this layer to Soft Light so that the gray color fades.
23. Now it’s time to lighten and darken Continue reading
12. Masking texture
Now we need to mask this texture. Hold the Alt / Opt key and click on the “Add Layer Mask” icon to add a black mask to the layer mask. Do this for both layers of skin texture. Activate the Brush tool (B), set the opacity of the brush to 10% and carefully paint with white the areas in which you want to show the texture.
Start with a layer with a finer texture, and when done, draw in the mask area of the larger layer where you want it to appear. This is a very painstaking face retouch in Photoshop. Stock up on time and patience. Remove white areas where the texture looks flat or unnatural.
13. Other spots
At this stage, we will create a stain layer and fix everything that we can visually identify. Create a new layer and name it “Blemishes”. Select the Healing Brush tool (J), set the pattern to Active and Below. Continue reading
Hotkeys for working with the Brush
In Photoshop, the brush is the number one tool. Comfortable work with a brush is one of the best ways to get a quick and accurate result in working with Photoshop. These combinations also work on other tools like the brush: Eraser, Healing Brush, and Stamp tool:

1. Getting Started with a Raw File
We start with a Raw file or high quality image. If you want to follow me and follow all the steps in parallel, upload an image. In this case, I am converting a Raw file to a PSD file. For beautiful photography, the most important thing is lighting. With proper lighting, all the shadows are filled with light, and the skin of the model looks smooth even without additional processing.
2. Frequency separation for skin tones
At the beginning of face retouching in Photoshop, we duplicate the background layer twice and rasterize each of these duplicates. Right-click and select Rasterize Layer. The lower layer I called “lo”, and the upper “hi”. I applied a “Gaussian Blur” to the “lo” layer with a radius of 10 pixels, and then selected the “hi” layer and went to Image> External Channel. Used the parameters shown in the screenshot. Then I set the “hi” layer to “Linear Light” blending mode. Continue reading
